SAGA - an Icelandic singing group
The singing group consisted of members of the South Africa group Against Apartheid, (SAGA) that was active in Iceland from the late 1980's until the mid 1990's. The group worked to raise awareness among the Icelandic population on the atrocities and injustices of the Apartheid system. They did this through demonstrations, protest actions and information distribution. The singing group was also used to raise awareness like in this video clip where they are performing in a TV-studio as an introduction to the broadcasting of the movie "Cry Freedom" on the life and death of Stephen Biko.
